100 Days of eCash Content - Competition Launched

On August 10 well known and respected eCash community member and supporter Cain, aka @cainBCHA announced a 100-day eCash giveaway/competition, where he will reward the best eCash content with 1 million eCash for 100 days. His tweet declared:

Over the next 100 days, I will give out 1 million $XEC each day to the best #eCash related tweet, meme, artwork, gif, music, article, whatever, that I see on Twitter or on https://www.reddit.com/r/ecash/ There are no rules. Just giving out 100 million $XEC in 100 days. (source: https://twitter.com/CainBCHA/status/1425348266691121153 )

Cain's announcement was met with a lot of enthusiasm in the different eCash related Telegram groups, with people asking about what they could do to create and earn one of those bounties of one million eCash. Soon people started to post memes and graphics and gifs with eCash as a common theme.

Cain spoke exclusively with eCash News Today and expressed his ideas regarding his contest: He stated:

“The truth is I decided to do the giveaway on a whim. Although I admit I sat there and thought about whether I really wanted to send the tweet or not since 100M XEC is still a good amount of money for me. But in the end, once the idea was in my head it was hard to not go through with it. 100 million XEC for 100 days just had such a nice ring to it.”

Cain was very honest about his motivations behind the contest. He is optimistic about the future of eCash and wants more people to be aware of the project. Cain stressed:

“I want to believe it could help promote the eCash project as well as grow my own audience, but I know it's possible it might have hardly any impact at all. But you never know unless you try, so I thought I'd try it. If anything, all it does is reveal my passion and belief in this project, which I consider being one of the most underrated projects in all of crypto.”

“Ultimately, I think I did this because I just wanted to do something. The guys at Bitcoin ABC are focused on the much more important work of improving the protocol and the infrastructure. So I just wanted to contribute in my own way without getting in their way, if you know what I mean.”

First Winners Served

Following Cain’s announcement about the competition, some just posted their eCash address, but others clearly put some time and effort into what they posted. At the end of the first day the creator of a very slick-looking eCash gif was announced to be the first recipient of this campaign and has therefore received 1 million XEC.

Day 1 winner: ThunderGFX

The winner announced on the second day depicts part of the eCash roadmap and was chosen because of its usefulness in visualizing the roadmap for a social media audience. His two additional graphics depicting the other parts of the roadmap possibly helped him be announced the winner.

Day 2 winner: Michael Nunzio

Those who posted creative content but did not get selected to receive a prize are still in the running because all content created will be considered each day. So on the final day of the 100-day campaign, the winner of the last prize could be someone that published content on the first day of this campaign.

The Power Of Graphic Content

Research shows that a very large percentage of the content shared on Facebook is or contains a graphic. When including posts containing video the total number approaches ¾ of all shares. Similar research elsewhere also shows that visual content is more likely to be noticed and shared by others.

Studying the power of visual communication in teaching shows that information presented in a graphic form is more likely to still be remembered two weeks later when compared with the same information presented only in text. One of the possible explanations for this is that evolutionary humans needed the skills to process and remember images while text-based information processing is a relatively new thing and therefore an overall less developed trait in humans.

Graphic Is The Way to Go

Even though there are no rules and lots of different sorts of content can win, graphic content is likely the way to go, and the first winner has shown that. If you are not a skilled graphic or video artist there is no reason to despair, thanks to the many meme generators and graphical tools available online, anyone with a bit of inspiration or a sense of humor can create something that turns out to be a brilliant find and a powerful graphic even if it is not as slick and beautiful as the first-day winner.

Go out there and give it a go. Create something visual relating to eCash and post it on Twitter or the eCash subreddit. Nothing to lose and one million eCash to win. Don’t forget to add $XEC and #eCash in your message so Cain will notice your entry. Good Luck!
