In the second article in this series, we will take a look at the Telegram group organized by a Filipino community around eCash. For this, eCash News Today had the opportunity to chat with Avie, one of the founders of the group. Avie is a Filipino data entry worker that found cryptocurrency through a BCH-based blogging platform that allows its users to earn tips for content posted. She was looking to extend her income, so she started blogging on the platform early in 2020.
Then she finally got on the cryptocurrency bandwagon for real when she participated in the famous meme contest that former Bitcoin ABC developer Shammah Chancellor (Also known as Micropresident) sponsored in the period before the BCHA (now XEC) - BCH split happened. It was around that same time that the Telegram group was started.

Why eCash?
Avie told eCashNEWS.today that the Telegram group started as a Bitcoin Cash group, but then she pivoted to eCash (formerly Bitcoin Cash ABC) as the split approached because she trusted in Bitcoin ABC’s vision of what a cryptocurrency should be. She stated:
“I changed it to BCHA because I know that Team ABC would do better what I expected from digital currencies than others”
To her, Bitcoin ABC’s proposal would support her vision of what a cryptocurrency system would be, and she chose this vision over the competing one as a result. She stressed:
“I favored the Bitcoin ABC team because I saw a huge potential with their team towards completing my goal of financial freedom. They are continuously building and innovating.”
Finally, she signaled which eCash native traits were important to her: She concluded:
“eCash simply has the capabilities to attain the long-time dream success when it comes to the crypto world. You can add staking and governance protocol to a POW coin. It is small, has convenient denominations, and provides Coash Fusion support which offers anonymity comparable to the top privacy coins while maintaining an auditable supply cap.”

The Filipino Telegram Group:
The Filipino group, since it has changed its support to eCash, is dedicated to the promotion of eCash to the new people that are entering the cryptocurrency environment. This is a very important task because it teaches people about financial freedom and economic opportunities away from the traditional fiat system. Avie stressed:
“The main objective of the group is to disseminate information about eCash and to make it easier for my fellow Filipinos who love crypto to understand what eCash is. We all want to share the same goal which is financial freedom, and it’s easier if we will use our own native language so we can express and share our thoughts easily.”
To achieve this goal, the group prepares eCash content every week and also conducted special activities last month when the rebrand and redenomination of the currency happened. There are also contests, lotteries, and sometimes quizzes to gain prizes in eCash. The group is available here to visit, but remember that members speak Tagalog, the native Filipino tongue.
