The eCash official Twitter account yesterday published a message reminding us that Bitcoin ABC, the team behind the development of eCash, is looking to expand its workforce. The team announced it is seeking to fill five different roles that would accelerate the development of the currency in a number of different fields.
While Joey King, one of the core developers of the eCash team, stated last week that Avalanche was “the first priority,” these career opportunities offer a glimpse of what the team is searching to build after Avalanche technology is added to the currency.
The first job opening listed on the Career Opportunities page is for a C++ developer. The description of the role states that the candidate must “support planned enhancements to our full node software. A background with bitcoin or bitcoin cash nodes is helpful but not required. Familiarity with bitcoin indexing software is also a plus.” This could indicate that the team is looking for help in coding the very core of Bitcoin ABC and or wanting to accelerate the process of bringing Avalanche support to eCash.
Interestingly, the ABC team is also looking for a competent CMO (Chief Marketing Officer). This means that Bitcoin ABC values the importance of a competent marketing strategy in the growth of eCash’s currency project. The pitch for this position states:
“Have you successfully built out a world-class marketing team for an international product? Tell us about it. We’re a new brand looking to build an internal marketing team with continued support from third-party specialists.”
Marketing is a very important part of the promotion of a cryptocurrency project now that the space is crowded with innovation everywhere. ABC seems to be aware of this fact, and they are acting to improve in this regard.
Smart Contracts Engineer, And Other Roles
There are three additional positions on the career opportunities page. However, the one that is more interesting is the Smart Contracts Engineer. eCash’s roadmap suggests that, with the implementation of Avalanche, a new world of smart contracts will open to users of the currency. The introduction of smart contracts via Avalanche subnets to the network will completely change the usage of the currency, opening the gate to the implementation of decentralized finance applications.
While this is still far down the roadmap, the team is already seeking a capable programmer for this field. The opportunity states:
“Are you passionate about fixed supply and money-first crypto but also excited about the tech potential of Ethereum? Have you contributed to open source full node software and built smart contracts in Solidity? We'd love to hear from you.”
The two other opportunities seek a Front End Developer and a Full Stack Developer to aid in web eCash and Ethereum linked products, reaffirming the commitment there is to hasten the development of defi related structures.
eCash NEWS Today contacted the Bitcoin ABC team to find out if any good candidates had come forward and to get an update on the general progress of this hiring plan. Likely hard at work on Avalanche and other essential eCash tech they have not informed us on any progress yet. We will continue to monitor the hiring process.
